Optical Pots 2019

When making these pots I was concentrating on the exploration of form and surface. Previously I had produced ceramic pieces with gentle surfaces, but in this body of work I was drawing inspiration from my island home in winter time. The wind swept sand dunes, littered with half collapsing fencing and rusty railings along the sea wall. This was also combined with a contrasting street art aesthetic, using ceramic mediums to replicate spray paint marks.
